Chance Encounter - MAXXI was the preview performances of Chance Encounter on the Tiber, presented at MAXXI Museo nazionale delle arti del XXI secolo (National Museum of 21st Century Arts) in Rome, as part of the museum’s opening celebration weekend. The event and installation is a potent example of how artists can affect the life of public spaces. Robert Hammond and Lisa Bielawa have turned the notion of urban planning inside out, inviting the public within the process in this playful, yet directed, interactive experiment.
