About the Project
October 2021, Viterbo, Rome (Italy)
Urban New Deal was a high-profile contemporary art exhibition staged within the historic Palazzo dei Priori, the seat of the Municipality of Viterbo. Curated by Davide Sarchioni, the project served as the official collateral event for the national conference Ecoincentriamoci, which focused on the redevelopment of historic centers and sustainable architecture.
The project marked a strategic shift for the EcoArt Project platform, focusing on "living" as a core pillar of a sustainable lifestyle. By exploring both domestic and public spaces, the exhibition used the communicative power of art to provoke questions on how we inhabit, utilize, and improve our cities. Drawing on a diverse "mosaic" of international artists—ranging from Germany to Japan—Urban New Deal acted as a creative stimulator for a more respectful and innovative urban path, reimagining city centers as vibrant hubs of human relation and sustainable exchange.
