Pure Water Vision
Bridging industry and art for Corporate Social Responsibility.
Every day, millions of people perform the simple act of turning on a tap or shower, rarely pausing to consider the vast, subterranean choreography that makes it possible. In 2011, Fortunato Productions and EcoArt Project partnered with the Acea Group—Italy’s premier multi-utility providing water, electricity, gas and sewerage services—to launch Pure Water Vision. This wasn't just a corporate campaign; it was a high-stakes creative mission to strip away the mystery of the technological water cycle and place it at the center of the cultural conversation.
Known as the Acea EcoArt Contest, the initiative bridged the gap between industrial infrastructure and the creative imagination, translating technical systems into a compelling visual narrative through arts. By turning the spotlight on everything from natural springs to the often-ignored grit of sewage treatment plants, Pure Water Vision transformed "utility" into an evocative exploration of our planet’s most precious resource.
From Infrastructure to Iconography
The project challenged visionaries with an open call for artists and final exhibition to interpret the vital, fragile relationship between humanity and the environment. By focusing on critical themes like desertification, pollution, and sustainable development, artists acted as translators—turning technical complexity into emotional impact.
The initiative culminated in the awarding of the top prize to artist Dacia Manto, whose work stood out as a testament to the competition’s core mission. Through an integrated strategy of social media, strategic partnerships, and traditional media, Fortunato Productions ensured that the dialogue didn't just stay within gallery walls, but flowed directly into the public consciousness.
Pure Water Vision remains a gold standard for Corporate Social Responsibility, proving that when industry and art collaborate, they can reveal the extraordinary systems that sustain our modern lives

About the Project
Rome (Italy), 2011
Pure Water Vision was a large-scale creative campaign and international art competition commissioned by the Acea Group, Italy’s leading multi-utility in water and energy. Dubbed the "Acea EcoArt Contest," the project was designed to demystify the technological cycle of water—bringing public attention to the invisible infrastructure of springs, aqueducts, and treatment plants that sustain modern life.
The competition challenged artists to explore the vital relationship between man, water, and the environment. By focusing on themes such as sustainable development, water pollution, and desertification, the project used art as a metaphor to reveal the complexity behind the simple act of turning on a tap. With over 600 international entries, the initiative culminated in the Pure Water Vision Exhibition, the publication of the EcoArt Book 2, and the awarding of the €10,000 Acea EcoArt Prize to winning artist Dacia Manto.
Through an integrated multi-channel communication strategy involving social media, traditional advertising, and strategic media partnerships, the project successfully engaged an audience of more than 2 million people.
