About the Project
April-October 2011, Venice (Italy)
Presented as a high-profile event during the 54th Venice Biennale, Round The Clock (Collateral Event of the Biennale), was a call to rediscover a foundational respect for the places we inhabit. The exhibition explored the urgent need for humanity to relearn coexistence with the natural world, placing contemporary art and sustainable ecosystems in a direct, powerful dialogue.
Curated by Martina Cavallarin, the showcase featured works born from "modest means"—transforming raw, recovered materials such as ash, earth, cardboard, and recycled plexiglass into sophisticated installations, photography, and performances that addressed the planet's finite resources. The artists included: Francesco Bocchini, Ulrich Egger, Eva Jospin, Chiara Lecca, Serafino Maiorano, Gianni Moretti, Maria Elisabetta Novello, Svetlana Ostapovici, David Rickard, Antonio Riello, Matteo Sanna, Wilhelm Scheruebl, Silvia Vendramel, Devis Venturelli, Peter Welz.
