About the Project
Rome, June 2010
SEEDS was the landmark inaugural exhibition of the EcoArt Project platform. Hosted in the evocative San Sisto Orangery in Rome, the show served as the formal debut of a creative vision designed to research and promote "Green-Art"—artistic production inspired by the urgent themes of eco-sustainability.
The exhibition showcased the finalists and the winner of the Contemporary EcoArt Contest 09, marking the first physical manifestation of a community that bridges aesthetics with environmental ethics.
In a strategic move to multiply project development and communicative reach, the event also hosted the 100 Red Chairs installation from the Chance-Encounter on the Tiber project by American Academy in Rome Fellows Robert Hammond and Lisa Bielawa. This synergy highlighted a shared mission: the sustainable artistic and urban revitalization of the city.
The event culminated in a significant milestone—the publication of The EcoArt Book One 2009, the first volume in an editorial series documenting the best of the year’s environmental creativity.
